Since I'm still on KC time I'm up at the crack of dawn blogging. I've already gotten all of my fall decorations and decorated the house and started some laundry. I thought I'd take a break before I tackle actually cleaning the house. Somehow it's become littered with paper and things that I don't know what to do with.
Anyway...
This weekend I went to Kansas City, Missouri with my grandma, mom and cousin Amber to attend Grandma's 65th high school reunion in Nebraska. We flew out last Wednesday where we met up with my cousin Kirsten and got home last night.
Although the trip was long, it was amazing to be able to go to the midwest and see so much stuff.
The tornado sign is what greets you as you get off the plane in KC. It was a nice reminder that we were in Tornado Alley during tornado season. Grandma wanted there to be a tornado so badly so we could see what one was like... as long as it didn't destroy anything and no one got hurt. We didn't see any tornadoes but I made sure I knew where the deepest ditches were along the side of the road the whole time we traveled. Just in case...
Our first two nights we stayed at the Ameristar Hotel and Casino. It was the fanciest place I've ever stayed in. The hotel was a luxury hotel and connected to it was the casino. The inside was built like a little city including a cieling painted like the say at sunset. It has many different restruants you could eat at, a kid's play place, a theater and even Burger King. They kept the place pretty dark so I apologize for the not so great pictures.
I didn't realize that you weren't allowed to take pictures of the actual casino so I did get in a little bit of trouble when I got caught. At least she was really nice about it. The lengths I'll go just to get pictures for my blog!
We ended our first day with an amazing Missouri sunset and thunderstorm.
