It seems too often in the Van Voorst household that life gets too busy, time starts speeding up and before we know it, we haven't spent as much quality time -just the 3 of us- as I'd like.
So thankfully Timo was able to spare one day out of Spring Break, where he didn't have to do anything (track doesn't stop because there's vacation) and the 3 of us braved our not-so-springy weather and headed to the zoo.
There were some moments of rain, some slight meltdowns but the animals were in good showing and Will was much more interested in the animals this time around.
It amazes me how independent he is becoming. He insisted on walking himself, not always in the direction he was supposed to go and would make it clear that he was not happy if we didn't let him go where he wanted. We finally put on his T-Rex backpack leash thing which let him walk without getting too far away from us.
It was nice to feel like a family and actually get out and do something. It makes it hard to be patient for summer when we'll have Timo home, nothing pressing to do and beautiful weather to do whatever we want in.
