Time flys by and then you get snowed in

I realized that I haven't written anything for a long time and thanks to mom and Teresa, I am getting on the ball and finally writing. I did start a draft about Thanksgiving which I just posted so at least you can see a little bit about what that was like for us but we're now a week away from Christmas and it's snowing like crazy so it's time to move on to recent times.
Last Friday we headed to my parents house so I could see one of my greatest friends while she was in town. I know Timo wasn't happy about driving 2 1/2 hours when we would be back in less of a week but because it was Karia he couldn't say no, and I was so thankful to see her. We then packed up Saturday and headed to our annual Lyons/Walsh Christmas. It wasn't nearly as fun this year with so many people missing because of weather or living too far away and having to be on bed rest (in other words, we missed your Nate and Lindsey) but it was still good to see everyone. Grandma tried to cheat at Bingo and Timo and I walked away with pretty cool presents this year.

We decided to stop by and see Timo's family since we were going to be in the area and was planning on going home on Sunday but ended up getting snowed in. It snowed hard enough that Timo had to call in on Monday and we got to enjoy a snow day with his parents while all of our students went to school. :) This was Kenya's first experience with snow and she absolutely loved it, although her little butt kept shaking because she was so cold. We made it home safely and since Wednesday we have gotten at least 5 inches of snow with more coming.

We took Kenya to the high school yesterday so she could run in the snow and I wouldn't be as worried about her getting hurt or taking off. There were some high schoolers who decided it would be fun to play football in the snow but as soon as they saw Timo they thought it would be more fun to have a snowball fight with Mr. V. He did tell them that if they hit me he would have to bury them in the ground, which I was thankful. :) Kenya had a great time chasing the boys and running crazy. We got home around five and she was asleep for the rest of the night.

I actually got her to sit for a picture

We are officially all ready for Christmas. Our tree is up, decorated and has presents under the it. Thankfully 2 out of 3 animals has stayed out of it and there have been no disasters yet. Kenya got to meet and have her picture taken with Santa. She did really well posing for pictures, Glenna, my parents dog, did not.

Kenya is finally tall enough to see into our huge fish tank and has realized there are big, moving toys in there that she wants to play with. Timo is not going to be happy when he sees her watching his fish.

This is the view from our front door at the moment so we are going to take Kenya to the school to go play and get some energy.
