With all this heat I haven't felt like doing anything and that includes sitting at the computer. But since it's only in the mid 80's at the moment I figured I'd try and put up the rest of the pictures from Yellowstone or at least the first day of Yellowstone.
We spent our first night in West Yellowstone, which is actually in Montana, at a place called Hibernation Station. It was adorable and super cheap! It also had the biggest bathtub I've ever seen and from now on will be wanting one like it.
Timo's first taste of Yellowstone was at the river at a pit stop as soon as we got into the park. (I can only hold it for so long)
We then saw our first hot springs at a little boardwalk turnarond thing. Timo didn't think that it was very hot and wanted to try and touch the water inspite of all of the warnings about the hot temperatures and unstable grounds. I was convinced that my husband was going to be one of those stupid tourists that stories were told about to warn others. Thankfully the wind changed and we got faces full of steam and he changed his mind.
Not only are there barren, steaming lands but amazing waterfalls and streams.
The last big thing we did on our first day was go to the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. It's probably my favorite place of the entire park. It's beauty will truely take your breath away. We only had time to go to the lower falls and sadly wasn't able to go back the next day for the upper falls. The picture is one of the upper falls. The hike down to the lower falls is only 3/8 of a mile but drops at least 600 feet. Not bad going downhill although still steep. Going up is another story and since some little man is hogging my lung space we had to take some stops on the way up. The trip is totally worth it.
