I'm doubling up tonight on my blogs so I don't get too behind. Summer has made me lazy and I don't turn on my computer that much. Maybe I should invest in a laptop so I can blog and enjoy the nonexistent sun and watch Will play. I'll register for one when I register for baby things.
For our 5th anniversary, Timo and I went away for the weekend for the first time since we've had Will. It took a lot for me to be able to prepare and adjust to thinking of leaving him but I'm glad I did.
My mom and dad came up to babysit for the weekend while we went to Seaside and I'm not sure who enjoyed their time more... us or them. We snuck out at nap time so Will (or I) wouldn't cry and I don't think he noticed that we were gone the entire time. He certainly didn't care that we came home. What a snot. ;)
Since neither of us had ever spent time in Seaside, we spent a lot of time walking around soaking in the sights.
The "Tin Man"
We went out to dinner, where they sang us "Happy Anniversary" and gave us free dessert and enjoyed the time to ourselves.
I was amazed at how much we needed the time away and how relaxing it was to do whatever we wanted to and not worry about what our crazy child is up to. He is much more exhausting than I realized but I sure love him to pieces.
This was one of the best weekends Timo and I have had in a long time and I'm ready and willing to do it again and often!
