FLOODING!!!
That's right, I said flooding! Clatskanie and it's surrounding areas have been considered a natural disaster area (for the second year running) since all the snow hit us 3 weeks ago because of all the flood and mudslides that are possible in our area and now it's coming our way. We aren't officially flooded yet but when high tide comes at 1 a.m. this morning our river will overflow. That probably means no school tomorrow because the school is used as the town evacuation station for anyone who needs it. Thankfully for us, we'll be fine since we live on a hill but Timo and I now refer to our backyard and driveway as the marsh lands since water isn't draining. It didn't help that the snow didn't get a chance to melt at all this weekend and then we ended up getting another inch or two on Monday before all the rain came.
My biggest worry right now, and I know how ridiculous it sounds, is that I won't make it in to Longview to get Kenya. She got spayed today and doesn't get to come home until tomorrow morning. They have been evacuating parts of Longview and Kelso because of flooding so I'm a little stressed.
I'm not working tomorrow so after I safely get Kenya, I'll take some pictures of the flooding.
